Faculty Position in Anatomic Pathology

The Department of Population Health and Pathobiology of the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University invites applications for a full time (12 month) tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Anatomic Pathology. We are particularly interested in candidates who have research expertise in areas of oncology, infectious diseases or toxicologic pathology.
OPPORTUNITIES
NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine is located in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina which is home to a vibrant research community with abundant collaborative possibilities including two medical schools, the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences and several well recognized pharmaceutical and other biomedical companies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to train graduate students through the Comparative Biomedical Sciences graduate program and participate in the NCSU Center for Comparative Medicine and Translational Research. The Veterinary College campus has recently expanded with the addition of a new research building and the new Randall B Terry, Jr. Companion Animal Veterinary Medical Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful applicant is expected to develop or sustain an active externally funded research program as an independent or collaborating investigator, to teach at the professional (DVM) and graduate student level in didactic and necropsy room forums and to participate in the training of residents in anatomic pathology. The specific assignments in teaching and mentoring, research and service will be tailored to the expertise of the individual and the needs of the college.
REQUIREMENTS
A DVM/VMD or equivalent and a PhD degree are required. Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists is preferred. We are looking for a research focused anatomic pathologist who in addition will contribute to the teaching and service mission of the College. Salary will be commensurate with training and experience.
