The Department of Veterinary Pathology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Iowa State University, is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time tenure-track position in clinical pathology. Applications are being accepted at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level, depending on the candidate’s qualifications. The department has key responsibilities in diagnostic pathology services, research and teaching, and provides diagnostic services to the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center and practicing veterinarians across the country. The assignments are divided among participation in diagnostic clinical pathology services, teaching professional DVM and graduate student courses, assisting with course development and modification, and collaborative research, which could include animal models of human disease, infectious diseases, neoplastic disease, toxicity, host-pathogen interactions, and comparative clinical pathology. The successful candidate will have a record of rigorous training and experience in teaching and diagnostic clinical pathology, and hypothesis driven research, including prior grant writing experience.
Required qualifications: DVM or equivalent degree; ACVP or ECVCP board certification in Clinical Pathology, and an advanced graduate degree. Preferred qualifications: PhD or equivalent degree. Experience in infectious, neoplastic or toxicity disease research. Experience in comparative clinical pathology.
